Account and CLI help

Troubleshoot signup, invitations, Owner, Contributor and Viewer access, CLI login, logout and missing reports.

Account created, but no workspace

Creating an account is free and requires no card. Complete hosted email verification, sign in again if prompted, then choose Create workspace. Existing verified accounts without a workspace follow the same path. Creating your own workspace makes you its Owner, not a member of anyone else’s workspace. It does not create a subscription or authorize checks.

Owners invite people from Members. Accept with the exact verified email named by the invitation. An expired, revoked or superseded invitation requires a current invitation from the Owner. If the app unexpectedly says Workspace access requires an invitation, contact Support.

If you were invited, sign in with that account and follow the activation prompt. If access is paused, contact support instead of creating another account to bypass it.

A control is missing

Check the workspace and your role. Owners and Contributors can add assets and authorize supported checks. Viewers can read and export accessible results. Only Owners manage invitations, roles and members; the last Owner cannot be removed or demoted. Operator and approver roles in the technical workflow reference are not additional app permissions.

CLI login does not work

Follow CLI setup and authentication using the approved source revision and Node.js 22. Run auth login, authorize only the code from your own terminal in the browser, and return to the terminal for confirmation. Login grants session access by default, not signing or collection authority.

Use auth status to check current access. For an expired or revoked session, use auth logout, then auth login again. If a server check is unavailable, do not bypass the permission check: Owners and Contributors may explicitly request server-check rights, and collection still needs its own approved scope and window.

auth logout removes the local credential and attempts server revocation. A connectivity failure means server revocation is not confirmed. Do not share the credential file or paste tokens into support.

No reports yet

Reports come from saved workspace observations. A public free check is not automatically imported. Follow Your first observation if your workspace is empty and your role permits a check.

Ask for help

Ask WitnessOps can explain public product guidance but cannot inspect your account, grant an invitation or start a private workspace check. AI is optional. For a human request, use Contact support, submit the form and verify your email. Chat alone does not submit a ticket. Include the page and non-secret error wording, never passwords, tokens or private evidence.
